Founded in 1966 by Seymour Stein and Record Producer Richard Gottehrer, Sire Records originally specialized in British and European Psychedelic Rock and Progressive Rock bands who'd been passed over by other American record companies. However, the label's focus started to change when they signed The Ramones in 1975. By the time Sire got a distribution deal with Warner Bros. Records in 1977, they'd switched their emphasis to Punk Rock, New Wave Music and later Alternative Rock. However, this didn't stop them from signing non-punkers like Erasure, Talking Heads, The Pretenders, Madonna, Depeche Mode, The Smiths and many more. This shirt features a distressed white logo on a dark shirt.
